1/29/10 Bass fishing on Kentucky Lake has been really good on main lake points fishing with suspending jerkbaits in Table Rock Shad color in 12 to 15 feet of water. They are not catching a large number of fish, but the ones being caught are quality fish in the 3 to 5lb range.
3/18/10 Bass fishing is really starting to pick up. The sunny warmer days have started pushing the water temp up to the low 50 degrees which is moving the fish to shallower water. Bass are still being taken fishing suspending jerkbaits on main lake points, but good numbers of fish are also being caught fishing traps and shad raps in the bays as well. It took 27lbs to win the BFL tournament this past weekend out of Ky Dam Marina.
4/15/10 Water temp 72 degrees, lots of fish being taken in bushes in 4 to 6 feet of water on Big Bite Bait Yo Mammas in Road Kill color. Most of the fish are bucks.
4/25/10 Tenn River-Water temp 66 degrees and the smallmouth are hammerin it. They are being taken on Red Spro Rattlebaits and Shakey Heads around riprap.
5/12/10 Ky Lake-Water level @ 367 and muddy. Fish are being taken on Chatterbaits and Chart colored crankbaits in peoples yards and seem to be stacked up on points.
5/18/10 Ky Lake-Water level down to 360 and color just stained. The bays are starting to clear up well. The majority of the fish have spawned and are starting to move out to staging areas on deep points and ledges in the bays. Fish are being taken on Jewel Jigs and Spro Little John DD crankbaits in brn/chart and blue/chart colors.
6/12/10 Ky Lake-Water Level at summer pool and fairly clear. The fish are out on main lake ledges and being caught on Spro Little John DD in Blue/Chart, 1/2 oz football jigs and 10' worms. The fish seem to be on the deeper ledges this year due to the high water levels this spring not allowing milfoil to grow on shallower ledges.
6/14/10 Tenn River-Water temp 81 degrees and water level about 5 feet above pool. The water color is clear. The smallmouth and largemouth have spawned and are feeding up for the summer. Fish are being taken on Carolina rigged tubes in Roadkill color, shakey heads and Spro Little John DD in Cellmate color. Some giant smallmouth are being caught in the 4 to 5 lb range.
7/1/10 Ky Lake-Water temp around 84 degrees and level is stable at summer pool. The largemouth fishing is spotty to say the least. The majority of the fish are being taken on Main River Channel ledges in 25 feet of water on Spoons, Deep Cranks, 10" worms and jigs.
